Sponsorship is the core of the Sponsor-A-Scholar Program. Each SAS student is matched with a sponsor who contributes $7,500 for that student. Six thousand dollars of the sponsorship goes directly to the student once the student enrolls in college to help fund the student’s basic needs such as books, fees and transportation home. Students receive their sponsorship funds on a semester-by semester basis. The remaining $1,500 is retained by Philadelphia Futures to help cover the student’s SAS high school program activities. The sponsorship may be paid as a one-time gift or in installments.
A sponsor may also serve as the student’s mentor. If a sponsor prefers not to be a mentor, the sponsor will receive written reports on the student as least annually while the student is in high school.
Sponsors create a powerful incentive for students to stay in high school and prepare for college. Being a sponsor is truly an opportunity to make a direct and lasting impact on the life of a child.

If you would like to sponsor one or more of our students, please complete the attached Sponsor Pledge Agreement and Sponsor Profile Form. Please return the forms, along with your sponsorship payment, to Philadelphia Futures. We’ll contact you upon receipt and notify you when your student is selected.
