Over the last 20+ years, Philadelphia Futures’ Get in the Game fundraiser has raised over $2.5 million to support the college aspirations of Philadelphia Futures scholars. From its early days as a billiards tournament to the Get in the Game Celebrity Bowling Tournament, the winning partnership of the Philadelphia Phillies, sponsors, and enthusiastic guests has been a game changer for Philadelphia students. This year, the Futures community gathered, in person, at Citizens Bank Park for the Get in the Game Homecoming event.

Event highlights included friendly competition of lawn games such as cornhole and washers with members of the Phillies organization, ballpark tours for guests, exciting photo opportunities with the 2008 World Series trophy, and the chance to meet and mingle with first baseman Rhys Hoskins, as well as Charlie Manuel, Mickey Morandini, and other Phillies alumni. In addition, Philadelphia Futures’ online auction, which includes items such as overnight getaways, signed Phillies items, golfing packages, self care, and fitness, is currently live and closes Friday, May 20. “Philadelphia Futures is thrilled to welcome our community back for a homecoming at our signature Get in the Game event,” said Philadelphia Futures’ Executive Director Sara Woods. “We are grateful for the more than twenty years of partnership and support from the Philadelphia Phillies. It is because of them and our sponsors that we have the opportunity to support our students’ college dreams.”

Sponsors of the Get in the Game Homecoming at Citizens Bank Park included:

“Philadelphia Futures shares the Phillies’ passion for teamwork and community as they help students succeed in college and thrive in life,” said Aaron Nola in his welcome video to the Get in the Game guests. “Thank you for joining me in supporting Philadelphia students and their college dreams!”

Philadelphia Futures raised close to $130,000 and, with the online auction, is hopeful to raise more. Learn more at GITG2022.givesmart.com
