Philadelphia Futures offers multiple opportunities to learn more about our students and their successes, as well as our organizational strategies, goals, and outcomes in our various publications, including our Annual Report, Newsletter, and Step Up to College Guide.
Step Up to College
Designed with first-generation-to-college students in mind, the comprehensive Step Up to College Guide is tailored to Philadelphia’s students in grades nine through twelve, their families, and youth-serving professionals, leading them through each stage of the college admissions process — from understanding college admission options to writing application essays, from conquering the FAFSA to making the right college “fit” decision. Historically, Philadelphia Futures has distributed more than 40,000 print copies of the Guide – without cost – to every public, public charter and parochial high schools in Philadelphia, the Free Library of Philadelphia, government offices, and community-based organizations. Due to the coronavirus pandemic this year, Philadelphia Futures is offering a new, interactive digital version of the Guide. Print copies will be distributed to schools and the community at a later date.
Step Up to College Summer Supplement
The Rising Senior Edition is the Summer Supplement to Philadelphia Futures’ Step Up to College Guide. The Supplement informs juniors entering their senior year about the steps they need to take during the summer to prepare for the college admissions process. Like the Guide, the Rising Senior Edition is available to juniors and their families without cost.
From transitioning to a remote environment to becoming an anti-racist organization, the 2019-2020 Annual Report showcases Philadelphia Futures’ laser focus on our students and their success. The Report also highlights the dedicated individuals, institutions, and organizations who have contributed greatly this past year to ensure our students continue to have the tools, resources, and opportunities necessary for admission to college and success in life.
