b'Remembering Phil WeinbergPhiladelphia Futures mourns the loss of Phil Weinberg, a critical member of the Philadelphia Futures community.Phil served on FuturesBoard of Directors for 10 years and was Board Chair for 2 years. He was a volunteer, mentor, Career Day, host and one of Philadelphia Futures biggest supporters. He will be deeply missed by all those who had the pleasure of knowing him.Phil and his wife Terry joined Futures when the organization merged with White-Williams Scholars in 2011. He was very involvedin making the merger happen successfully.Phil graciously hosted our Young Mens Initiative membersfor Career Day every year at the Wells Fargo Center and always madesure they had an incredible experience. He was personally invested inHe was athe success of our scholars and on many occasions spoke individuallyand collectively with students about their college and career goals.friend, mentor,Phil worked tirelessly to open up a pipeline for internships at Comcast and coachtoSpectacor for Philadelphia Futures students.When Phil found our that one of our scholars was admitted to me, to our staff,his alma mater, Hamilton College, he reached out to the student and to our students,provided helpful perspective as an alum. When the student committed and to his fellowto Hamilton, Phil gifted him swag. He was the lead Board person for our current strategic plan and board members.spent hours each month focused on making sure we pushed ourselves He cared deeply to meet our expansion goals.about our students,These are just some of the examples that highlight the amazing about our staff, andperson that Phil was.about our community.
