What a year it has been, both for Philadelphialow-income, first-generation- Futures and the world.to-college students with the tools, resources, andFrom transitioning to a remote environment to becoming an anti-racist organization, this years report showcases Philadelphiaopportunities necessary forFutures laser focus on our students and their success. In 2019-2020, our scholars succeeded because of their incredible talents,admission to and success in college. their persistence, and their strength. They succeeded despite the overwhelming challenges surrounding them: learning andworking under dicult circumstances, balancing jobs with school work, navigating a public health crisis, experiencing a country-wide racial reckoning, and living in economic uncertainty, both at home and at school. Vision Philadelphia Futures is moving forward as an organization despite the uncertainty around us. We transitioned to virtual Philadelphia Futures envisionsprogramming through the incredible eorts of our sta, and supported every student to ensure they had what they needed toa city where every student hassucceed in college and thrive in life. During the last quarter of the year, Philadelphia Futures celebrated the accomplishmentswhat they need to succeed in collegeof 147 high school and higher education graduates, raised $147,000 for our Opportunity Fund, distributed $90,000 in collegeand thrive in life. scholarships, delivered chromebooks and laptops to students, and purchased gift cards for students and their families to buygroceries and household essentials, in addition to our regular programming. We are grateful to the Philadelphia Futures community for their continued support. Thanks to you, we can oer the tools, Guiding Principle resources, and opportunities necessary for admission to and success in college.
